Does UCF offer courses at other locations?
Yes. Aside from our main Orlando campus, UCF offers a twelve other campus locations known as the UCF Regional Campuses. Most regional campuses offer upper division coursework for specific programs. Students can view regional campus schedules through UCF Regional Campuses .
How secure is UCF?
The University of Central Florida Public Safety and Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency with arrest authority and is dedicated to "Public Safety and Security for the entire University." UCF currently employs 45 police officers, stationed on campus 24 hours a day in patrol cars, mountain bikes, motorcycles and on foot. UCF also provides a Student Escort Patrol Service (SEPS) for escorting students anywhere on campus during evening hours. Who is SEPS?
Student Escort Patrol Services, this service is provided free to students through the Student Government Association. SEPS hours of operation are: Sunday to Friday, 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. They will provide a safe escort by way of a golf cart to anyone on campus during the evening hours. What events occur during Homecoming?
Homecoming is a big event at UCF. Throughout Homecoming Week there are different activities for all students enjoy. Some of the most popular events include Spirit Splash, Homecoming Day Parade, Skit Night and the Homecoming Game where the UCF Homecoming King and Queen are announced. When are UCF classes available?
UCF offers classes Monday-Saturday starting 7:30am and ending 10pm. While students may not always find the class they want at the "perfect time," students are encouraged to develop a schedule that will allow them to be successful. You may find more information by visiting: Undergraduate Catalog
Are students required to attend courses during the summer?
A student entering the State University System with fewer than 60 semester hours of credit is required to enroll in a minimum of nine hours of credit in the summer at a State of Florida university. Courses taken at the University during the summer for which the student receives a "W" or "F" may be counted toward this requirement. Credit earned by acceleration mechanisms also applies toward satisfaction of the Summer Attendance Requirement. Web Enrollment Guide.
What is CLAST?
The College Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) is designed to ensure that students have achieved communication and computation skills commensurate with successful completion of Tthe lower-division course work. All students seeking an Associate of Arts or baccalaureate degree from a State of Florida Institution are required by the State to satisfy the CLAST requirement. There are several methods by which students may meet this requirement. Students who have completed 18 or more semester hours are eligible to take the CLAST. Does the university provide health services for students?
Yes. The Student Health Center (SHC) offers staffed physicians, registered nurses, pharmacists, and a full complement of other medical support personnel. All students who pay the health fee are entitled to the benefits provided through Student Health Services. A brochure outlining all of the services is available in the Student Health Center. What is MyUCF?
Through MyUCF students can maintain their University records, register for courses, add and or drop courses, withdraw from courses, print their Degree Audit and Fee Invoice, and pay fees. MyUCF
What is the UCF Card?
The UCF Card is your student's ID card. To obtain their card, students will need to visit the UCF Card Office located in the John T. Washington Center. The card offers three "purses" into which money can be deposited. The UCF Card can be used like a debit card for purchases on campus and at several area restaurants. The UCF Card is also used for admission to student activities such as UCF Athletics events, concerts, and various other activities. http://www.ucfcard.ucf.edu/
What does "University Affiliated Housing" mean?
UCF has entered into a long-term special relationship with College Park Communities through Pegasus Pointe and Pegasus Landing that includes implementation of a UCF Residence Life Program at Pegasus Landing and College Park Life Works Program at Pegasus Pointe. This means that UCF will be actively involved at Pegasus Landing and College Park at Pegasus Pointe, enhancing all aspects of residential living. What is the UCF Shuttle?
The UCF shuttle is a free service provided for students to transport them to and from campus. The purpose of shuttle is to alleviate parking and traffic problems on campus. Is public transportation available to students?
Yes. Orlando has a great public transportation system called Lynx, which travels continually throughout the day to the campus and surrounding Orlando area. For bus schedules and additional information vist the Lynx web site at http://www.golynx.com/
Does UCF offer an intramural sports program? Which sports are the most popular?

What type of athletic facilities are available and open to students?
UCF offers a pool, tennis courts, and numerous athletic fields, as well as a weight room, locker rooms, equipment checkout, a golf driving range, trails, track, and a disc-golf course. A new 84,500 square-foot recreation center includes a three-story cylindrical climbing wall, four basketball courts, and a 1/8 mile track. http://www.rec.ucf.edu/
Do students have access to computer labs on campus?
Yes. We have several computer labs on campus containing more than 600 computers. The computer labs contain both PC and Mac computers and some UNIX machines.
